Much Prec Explore Psychedelic City Nights on “Just Friends”

Love, city nights, and psychedelia collide. Much Prec’s "Just Friends" is trippy, catchy, and unforgettable.

Just Friends” starts with a slightly rubbery, elastic energy. The beat moves like it’s caught between two worlds — a metronomic pulse for the dancefloor and a psychedelic haze for introspection. The vocals float on top, trippy and intimate, like they’re inviting the song to arrive while we catch up. There’s a tension in that approach, a subtle unease that keeps you listening.

The chorus lifts it into cohesion. What begins as a playful and strange sonic landscape folds neatly into a memorable hook, giving the track an almost cinematic arc. The production feels modern yet lived-in, like wandering through neon-lit streets while the past softly echoes behind you. There’s both sadness and joy threaded into the performance — a reminder of those transient love stories we all recognize.

Much Prec’s sound blends club-ready grooves with more experimental textures. The rubbery synths, layered drum machines, and underlying psychedelia give the track a metropolitan energy without losing its human core. It’s easy to imagine this song moving a crowd in a small LA venue while still feeling personal enough to sit with headphones alone. That duality makes it a standout.

Ultimately, “Just Friends” balances the abstract and the relatable. Its sonic design embraces the sensation of time slipping by, fleeting connections, and the strange joy of impermanent moments. One of the best tracks this year for merging atmosphere with emotional honesty.

About Much Prec:

Much Prec began in 2019 when Shane Asbridge and Seth came together in a Boyle Heights apartment to jam across synthesizers, drum machines, and effects. Despite Covid delaying progress, the duo returned in 2025 to a shared studio space, expanded the lineup, and began performing live in LA. With influences that draw from psychedelic textures, club energy, and metropolitan grooves, the project is committed to vulnerable lyrics and adventurous sound design. “Just Friends” is their second single, and it showcases their evolving chemistry and knack for balancing experimentation with accessibility.
