The noises of our lives.
We’ve grown up in an age where noises are everywhere. That ring of a mobile phone, the internet connecting when we were kids, the console, an advert.
These are sounds that never leave our imagination and that come back to us time and time again when we least expect it.
Today we’re on one of those days, where a song pulls at our head and our imagination. Meet CORP.
Curiosity sharpens our minds from the very first seconds: a mobile phone ringing, a modem connecting to the internet, the flashing messages on our devices indicating that there’s a new message, email or missed call.
And suddenly, without realising it, we’re sucked into a whole indie-rock sound with a hint of punk in our minds, while the video plays on our screen like a tour of the UK.
And… isn’t it really a stroll through the famous streets of the small British Isles?
At the interpreter’s fast pace, we hear the roots of British indie-rock, with the typical drums, guitar and a dreamy voice along the way. Complementing this adventure are all the sounds that are part of our lives. The result? An instant classic on our playlist.
They may be called CORP, but they’re anything but corporate. The band is a pearl in the midst of so much music coming out these days. You feel like you’re at the crossroads of generations, where you see the past, present and future in the same song – and that’s magnificent to see and hear.
A WtMM recommendation.
