Joaehun, a seasoned musician with over a decade of experience, embarked on his musical odyssey from the realm of classical guitar, traversing through the landscapes of rock and punk bands. Along the way, he cultivated a deep appreciation for jazz and gypsy jazz, ultimately finding his muse in a genre-defying fusion of acoustic instruments, electronic beats, and hip hop influences. Originating from Portugal, joaehun‘s nomadic lifestyle birthed a newfound passion for crafting music within the digital realm using a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), sparing his back from the weight of a sublime guitar.
In the intricate tapestry of electronic music production, joaehun has honed his skills, and with each composition, he invites listeners to embark on a sonic journey. Picture a musical intersection where the vibes of Gramatik seamlessly merge with the ethereal sounds of Bonobo, all while the virtuosity of Chris Thile on the mandolin adds an extra layer of complexity. Joaehun‘s music is a testament to his eclectic influences and innovative spirit, weaving together diverse elements into a harmonious blend that transcends traditional boundaries.
On his latest release, “leaf“, joaehun talks about simple feelings, simple things. As he told us: “The world comes too heavy upon each one of us shoulders so this songs evokes some lightness that is nice to feel. Simple lightness in the heart and soul. So simple it could be seen as similar to leafs blowing in the wind. There’s a sweet atmosphere with strong rhythms and a 5 piece orchestra to make this sweet, happy lightness emerge.“
