Culture, health, happiness and discovery.
When we experience something new, different and irreverent, we feel that buzz in our bellies of something unique, discovering what is yet to be revealed.
We talk about our past, but also about our present and future. Those experiences that we haven’t had yet, that we’re still going to have and that we want to feel.
The surprises: what we didn’t expect, but which will happen.
Today we fly through this cultural fusion, where history is rewritten, where the past meets the future: meet Portuguese band in.dia and their latest single.
in.dia is a Portuguese project that began in 2019 during a trip to India. The duo is composed of Diogo Passos on Classical Guitar and Hugo Gamboias on Portuguese Guitar. Between the cultural mix, history and what is yet to be done, the band has a very strong premise that enchanted us from an early age: the dissemination, fusion and creative exploration between classical and Portuguese guitar, without dogmas or conventions associated with them. Basically, to mix the tradition and good customs of Portuguese history and culture in this area with the future, new experiences, without barriers blocking them musically.
And this is where Folkalhada, the band’s latest single, comes in. The band’s genuineness in capturing the essence of the Portuguese guitar and its magnificent riffs is clear: for those who don’t know Portuguese music, they’ll certainly be listening to the beautiful 3:40 minutes that make up the song; for those who already know (or are Portuguese), it’s unavoidable to be proud of such music, which characterises our country so well.
From Coimbra to India, from In.dia to the world: the Portuguese band is different, and unique, with a magnificent sense of mission that makes you want to listen to it over and over again. A WtMM recommendation.
