Lomotor – Have a Nice Swim

Hailing from the woodlands of northern Massachusetts, Lomotor is an electronic producer whose tracks exude a nostalgic, well-worn charm, influenced by his deep connection with the natural world. Immersed in the woods, he explores forgotten fieldstone fences and navigates swamps in an old canoe discovered at an abandoned hunter’s campsite. Lomotor‘s warm, dusky arrangements serve as musical landscapes inspired by the hills and valleys of his rural surroundings, resonating with the echoes of branches and leaves, forest streams, and overgrown old farming fields.
Crafted with precision, “Have a Nice Swim” was produced utilizing two analog synthesizers, namely the Moog Grandmother and the Korg Minilogue. These synthesizers were intricately woven through an array of pedals and degradation effects, including the incorporation of an aging walkman. Adding a touch of authenticity, the ambient sounds of a nearby swimming pond resonate in the background of the track. The composition evokes a nostalgic ambiance, akin to a recollection of a melody from yesteryear, now bearing the marks of wear and tear—akin to the echoes of a past life.

Influenced by the likes of Radiohead, Jai Paul, Underworld, Tame Impala, and Four Tet, Sympala is dedicated to continually producing fresh material tailored for discerning independent music enthusiasts worldwide. As they mature, Sympala finds themselves relying less on lyrical expression and more on conveying their message through sound design and compositional arrangement.
