Elliot Moss – Everglades

New York-based singer, songwriter, and producer Elliot Moss unveils an exciting preview of his upcoming third full-length album, “How I Fell” set to release on February 16th via Nettwerk. Following his critically acclaimed 2020 album, “A Change in Diet” this highly-anticipated new offering delves deep into Moss’s personal experiences, unravelling past traumas and intricate relationships. In his latest single, “Everglades” recently released, Elliot Moss invites listeners on a journey through nostalgic recollections of youth while unravelling the emotional complexities that often accompany them. The track serves as a great reminder of how we sometimes find ourselves measuring the present against the golden moments of our past, and Moss suggests that the path to happiness might be in relinquishing these idealized memories to embrace the richness of the present. Accompanying the song is a visually captivating music video, where Moss reflects on a carousel of childhood photos while exploring the emotional “ties” that come to life within them. Moss explains that the video cautions against the dangers of obsessively pursuing happiness, which can lead to the loss of genuine connections to the depth of our cherished memories.

Laura Misch – Light Years

Laura Misch’s eagerly anticipated album, “Sample the Sky” released last week, is a captivating homage to the essence of care, human connection, and the art of attuning to the natural world. In a departure from her earlier, more secluded bedroom-produced works, such as the critically acclaimed EPs “Playground‘ and “Lonely City” Laura takes a communal approach, drawing on the rich tapestry of South London’s creative community. From guest musicians and field recordists to painters, florists, dancers, and tapestry makers, this album is an intricate fusion of organic electronic soundscapes, lyrical depth, wind-inspired saxophone, ethereal singing, and synthesizers woven into avant-pop compositions. One of the album’s focus track, “Light Years” offers a moody and unforgettable experience, featuring the interplay of finger snap beats, smoky production, evocative saxophone, and Laura’s distinctive vocals, inviting listeners into her world of profound insights and sonic innovation.

Ruth Radelet – Shoot Me Down

Ruth Radelet, the iconic frontwoman of Chromatics, announces her debut EP, “The Other Side“. Released on October 7th and crafted over two years in collaboration with producer Filip Nikolic, this collection underscores Radelet’s timeless vocals and classic songwriting. Following her ethereal debut single “Crimes” Ruth’s latest offering, “Stranger” delves into the unique loneliness of Los Angeles, where she explores a sense of perpetual outsider-ship. The song’s evolution from a melancholic piano ballad into an uplifting track reflects the cathartic power of music. From personal pain to joy, “Stranger” embodies her journey, culminating in a captivating release that resonates with universal emotions.

While deeply personal, I believe ‘Stranger’ tells a story that resonates with many. What began as a melancholic piano ballad, born from a particularly difficult night, evolved into one of the most enjoyable tracks I’ve had the pleasure of working on. It demonstrates the alchemical power of music to transmute pain, providing a sense of healing. While it was developed both in rehearsal and on stage, there’s a timeless charm to debuting a song in front of a live audience before its official release. Now, the journey is complete, and I’m thrilled to share the official version with the world.

Their debut track, boldly named “The Truth About Love” is the initial revelation in a meticulously planned series of releases, spanning an ambitious 18-month journey where a new track graces your ears every 4-6 weeks. Drawing inspiration from luminaries like Sigur Rós, Mogwai, and We Lost The Sea, this musical effort effortlessly fuses post-rock elements with the heartfelt resonance of the emo scene. The result is a sound that envelops the listener in its expansive embrace, all while embracing the powerful addition of vocals – a testament to the depth of human emotion.

Siobhán Winifred – Killers

Heralded as one of the year’s most captivating emerging talents, Siobhán Winifred has already captivated audiences with the likes of “Black Hole” and “This House“. Now, she returns with her latest release, “Killers” a track that delves deep into the tumultuous intricacies of navigating relationships marred by narcissistic inclinations. Siobhán’s musical journey has been nothing short of mesmerizing, with her distinctive, emotionally charged songwriting style consistently drawing industry-wide recognition. “Killers” once again highlights her remarkable songcraft, deftly translating intricate human emotions into poignant musical narratives. Hailing from the serene landscapes of Dorset and now calling London home, Siobhán’s unique sound is influenced by a diverse array of musical inspirations, including Rufus Wainwright’s poetic melodies, Leonard Cohen’s profound storytelling, and Alex Turner’s compelling artistry. With her strong Irish heritage and a penchant for crafting vulnerable lyrics, Siobhán Winifred emerges as an alt-pop artist who seamlessly blends Brit-indie rock guitars and electronic beats, inviting you to both cry and dance to her captivating sound.

Valice – nomadic

Hailing from Austin, TX, Valice is a five-piece band that intricately weaves together a tapestry of diverse musical elements, blending both vintage and contemporary influences to create a uniquely fresh and nuanced sound. Their music is characterized by whimsical nostalgia and an energetic, genre-defying groove that is both soulful and playful.

After the 2020 debut album “Sugarjulie“, the band is back on it again.
Delivering a bold and edgy rock riff with a contemporary pop twist, “nomadic” offers an exhilarating sonic experience that pairs seamlessly with the thrill of watching explosions in your rearview mirror. This dynamic track traces the story of a man in perpetual motion, leaving a trail of turmoil in his wake, all while seamlessly traversing musical genres, making it an ideal soundscape for those who revel in sonic exploration. As the opening track of the full EP, “do you want to be alone?“, it establishes the EP’s thematic foundation, delving into the realms of anxiety and self-doubt, and emphatically responding to the EP’s titular question with a resounding “YES!
