Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, Jörgen Kjellgren is a notable music producer gaining recognition for his ambient creations on Past Inside the Present. With a humble approach, he characterizes his musical journey as a series of electronic adventures often stemming from unintentional incidents. Notably, he forms one half of the pop duo Little Boxes alongside Anna Vogel, and he also actively engages as a versatile sound designer and songwriter. In his latest works for The Slow Music Movement, Jörgen transitions from his ambient soundscapes to delve into the realms of Cosmic Americana, Dream Folk, Indie Folk, and Singer-Songwriter genres.
Marking the concluding single prior to the release of Jorgen‘s inaugural singer-songwriter album, titled “Bluebird Waltz” scheduled for September 14th, the track showcases a blend of straightforward yet entrancing strumming and understated instrumentation. The result is a delightfully nostalgic and dreamlike atmosphere that subtly complements the introspective nature of the lyrics.
He commented: “After my first release on the Slow Music Movement in 2020 Hollawood, I started writing lyrics and singing again. I’ve done a lot of that in the past but had gone off it for a few years. I did early morning sessions, writing rough lyric drafts and then rearranging lines, almost in a blackout poetry kind of way. I disciplined myself not to overthink what the songs were about. Or if they even made much sense. Instead, I wanted to see what stories I was telling when I wasn’t really paying attention.“
