“Party for 2” by Ted Jasper was released almost one year ago and is still making waves for us while Ted is cruising on Spotify leads and plays (and singles).
This is a captivating track – that sort of started it all – that embodies the magic of locking eyes with the right person at the right time. Starting off slow and spacious, like the gentle waves at the beach, it gradually envelops our ears with a smooth and catchy pop sensibility. The song showcases a subtle funkiness and a knack for holding back a melody that yearns to burst out.
Ted Jasper’s vocals, reminiscent of Glass Animals, blend seamlessly with the pop-meets-electronica backdrop, creating a soothing and unhurried unfolding of the music. It exudes a refreshing breeze and a sensuous honesty that captivates our attention, drawing us into the romantic lyrics. “Party for 2” is a delightful fusion of genres that invites listeners to immerse themselves in its allure.
More recently, and already in 2023, among other collaborations Ted also released “tempest“. Featuring ALYSS, this is a track that pushes further on these pop-electronic elements with sensual vocals and a perfect melody with e female voice that brings us back to great acts like London Grammar. Almost post-rock at times, dark and “humid” the track fulfils no repenting urges but constant pleasures.
