Bristol outfit Oslo Twins release, today, their new single “Breath“.

Just signed by Fascination Street Records a new label founded by producer Ali Chant (Yard Act, Perfume Genius, Aldous Harding, Katy J Pearson), the quality of Oslo Twins is one of those facts that will spur into your ears soon you listen to tracks like this one.

Breath” incorporates elements of lo-fi, dream-pop, and trip-hop, resulting in a subdued yet emotionally charged sound. The inclusion of Harry Furniss from Bingo Fury on cornet and Tom Connolly from Bristol’s up-and-coming group Quade on violin, brings an added layer of depth to the track.

For us, the most enticing elements are the dark pop vibe that first reminded us of acts like Massive Attack, and the gorgeous vocals which sound chaotic but yet contained, filled with emotional elements that are being contained and clever melodies that reveal the whole range of emotions happening behind. The video helps a lot on the build-up of this same feeling of emotional chaos: where depression and darkness are hand-in-hand but where through it all still resides some kind of hope. Like a light at the end of the tunnel.

 About Oslo Twins:

Formed in Bristol in 2019, Oslo Twins is a group that blends dream pop and trip-hop genres with subtle influences from dance, industrial, and lo-fi music of the 80s and 90s. Their music strikes a balance between melody and melancholy while incorporating pop melodies and memorable hooks. Recently, they have collaborated with renowned producers such as Ali Chant and Seth Evans (who has worked with HMLTD and Black Midi), resulting in a fresh batch of songs which the band plans to release independently at some point in the future.

Our music is both melodic and melancholic but also subtly influenced by dance, industrial and lo-fi music of the 80s and 90s. But our melodies are pop melodies – we always like to have a hook.
