Nikolai Jones, a producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, has taken on the alter ego of Wuzy Bambussy. Residing in the heart of England’s West Country, Jones and his diverse group of accomplices create a mesmerizing soundtrack of funk, indie, and electronica.
Beginning in March 2023, Bambussy will release one single per month for ten consecutive months, which is the result of sessions with the Bristolian vocalist Kat Harrison. This is an exceptional collection of dreamy, jazzy alt-pop and indie beats, complete with lush orchestral strings and warm brass motifs, and all perfectly anchored by Harrison’s sultry mezzo-soprano. The first of the ten singles, “2 Miles High“, is a slice of slinky, stepping funk that flawlessly blends the organic and electronic worlds. With muted guitars cruising alongside jazzy double bass and atmospheric vibes, it is a true delight for the ears.
