Just like that, the power in Melbourne-based five-piece Rancid Eddie’s sonority is also transposed to their up-front honest rock approach to life. After blowing up on TikTok – being one of the few artists we actually managed to explore a new social network to their gain – they’ve just released the gorgeous indie-rock anthem “Champagne“.
The track naturally feels, from the first instance, indie-rock but also unprejudiced and unafraid. What starts with some gentle backed vocals quickly builds up to a funky rock feel that makes us wanna move around instantly. There are rock guitar vibes, funky vibes and steady relaxed drums, and everything sounds wavy, friendly and powerful. The chorus is hipper contagious and there is superb vocal-guitar complicity that only turns stronger with the genius variations of the track. From start to end, this never stops getting us less than vibrantly and positively intoxicated.
“Champagne” is the first single from their debut EP to be released in November this year, and the band composed by Jessy Kelly, Matt Sturrock (both vocals and guitars), Ash Ravlic (bass), Andy Sturrock (drums) and Eddie O’Brien (keys). They started in high school and are already giving highlight shows in their country. Now they are also certainly spilling all over to the rest of the world. This is our contribution.
