Chilling through the Summer atmosphere. That’s how we feel when listening to “Speeding Up” the latest track and collaboration between the US-based Mokita and Slenderbodies.
Perhaps more commercially pop than what we typically write about, there is a common lovable side about the track. Both vocals are melodic and radio-ready but also sensible enough to make it possible for the listener to enter. There is a proper folk vibe in the guitars too that keeps happening in the back of the track the entire time. It’s like Kings of Convenience have gone more pop than they would ever want. For us, there is a sense of guilty pleasure only possible to feel when we are facing a track with the potential to be a hit. Everything about this sounds like we are being melted into a commercial meets electronic track where the indie base is still there. And that roots us into it.
