NOLA is a Swedish artist which sound seems to be influenced by some American folk. Characterized by strong deep vocals, background haunting choirs and smooth but dark variations, she merges everything with some pop nuances. That kind of pop elements so typical of the most Northern European countries, that we can’t get enough of.
After releasing her debut EP Abyss in 2015, and following that two years later with her first album Moral Overflow, she is back in great form. Killing Time will be released on Saturday, and is a haunting vocal-lead dark pop ballad. Starting off with some soft drum-piano elements, it soon evolves with the integration of more and more elements. After a while, an entire scari-sh but also melancholic vibe is set. Even an electrical guitar comes in and out to provide the song with some more aggressive abilities. Still, and even though the song has that undeniable dark vibe, also incredible is how her vocals still sound beautiful and tender.
