Ella Grace – Here We Are Again

Someone sings a calm, sad song to your ear. It speaks of heartbreak and depression. What do you do? Listen. You listen and you give them time. And you feel with them.

Ella Grace released in the beginning of October Here We Are Again, an ode to all those with – yet again – a broken heart. Ella is a singer-songwriter, indie folk meets soul influenced that creates intimist tunes that, although heard by thousands, always seem specially tailored to each individual.

In Here We Are Again, Ella incorporated all throughout the track bird sounds recorded at the cottage she grew up in, making this track even greater and more personal than what it already was. Her voice is tangible and the guitar strings seem to be played right next to you. There is something about this woman that we can’t quite put our finger on it, but we love it and want more!

We will leave the lyrics below so you can take your time taking all of this in:

Yes, we’ve come far but it’s not the end
The path you walk is fragile, my friend
And while it’s hard, a hand I will lend
To you my heart in pieces I’ll send
To you my heart in pieces I’ll send

Here we are again
The night’s are long when pain is a friend
But dawn will come and greet you again
I don’t know why you try to pretend
That butterflies still live where darkness creeps in (x3)
Creeps in

Here we are again
The times we’ve shared, both winter and spring
We watched leaves fall and blossom again
Our hearts they soar both wild in the wind
I called your name but nobody came
No one came, no one came

Here we are again
The road’s been long, your soul’s on the mend
You’re not consumed by the sorrow or pain
Of times once had, or times that remain
Can butterflies now live where darkness crept in?
