[TGIF] Rebel Astronaut

From indietronic to indie melancholic, six tracks for an eclectic weekend.

FARR LAOUISE RITUAL SHOR Erik Sing Jeremy Tuplin

Thank God It’s Friday. We get back to the productive ends of week with a mix of indietronic tracks and surprising debuts. Five songs with a lot of radio potential and a geme that somehow represents the opposite, just to show that all styles deserve a place on our weekend mood.

FARR – Rebel Soul

Bringing back their RnB and Soul electronic vibes, FARR released Rebel Soul. Their third single until date (and third of the year) has the right amounts of sexy and style, without ever shying away from the classic vibes. Dope.

LAOISE – Rich

Picking up on the sensual vibe, LAOISE new single entitled Rich, does not let down. Being a song about money compromising love or about staying away of people that treat you badly, it comes out as much more than that. Deep bass, constant electronic background, and a voice that cries for immediate atention (in the good way). This is sexy and good.

RITUAL – Drown The Lovers

It must be no secret by now we are into RITUAL. Their latest advance is pretty magical mix between several types of modern styles. Drown The Lovers features 6LACK, and mixes indietronic vibes, with rap, RnB and even romantic approaches to singing. With a total of three different vocalists, the song constantly feels good, even if it is about a good situation in live. We can definitely see this playing on the radio.

SHOR – Calm of the Sea

SHOR (sure) is only 22 years of age but has a voice that seems very well matured. Alternating between a deep register, a falsetto and a very comercial tone, it seems he can sings everything. Calm of the Sea his debut song, is the perfect showcase of that capability. Mixing up comercial bits, with indie passages and a well-rounded melody, the way the song evolves through its almost 4 minutes makes it a perfect song for the radio.

Erik Sing feat. Isabella Fortuna – Leave You Alone

Erik Sing is a Melbourne based producer/songwriter which has just debuted his first ever track entitled Leave You Alone. This is a sort of pop meets electronic song which counts with the light-weight and pleasurable zen-vocals of Isabella Fortuna. The track which is also very radio-material was recorded in two hours, and makes for a very solid debut and ambitious introduction for the Australian producer.

Jeremy Tuplin – Astronaut

Jeremy Tuplin voice can sound similar to Matt Berninger, and that is how he got to enter our likings. But the way he sings his heart slowly out in Astronaut is much more than what we could hope for. This self-made convincingly melancholic singer is debuting his first labeled EP entitled I Dreamt I Was An Astronaut today. If you dig Astronaut as much as we do, you should dive in this great long play here.

Have a nice weekend!
