“Corey Fox-Fardell a.k.a. FØNX, is a East Sussex-based pop-RnB singer-songwriter whose characteristics can very well turn him into a phenomenon.” That was how we introduced FØNX a few less than one year ago. By that time Corey’s Hit Me Hard was a completely unknown song from the indie crowd; but throughout the last months the song is getting popular and popular (especially in the UK). Additionally, putting out a big amount of acoustic concerts throughout London intimal stages, must have helped too.
Today he finally releases his second single. First of all, Can’t Get Enough (Of It) keeps the strong basis on the guitar (Black Keys like) pace. Only dividing its honours with Corey pop-electrical vocals. Both in vocal terms, and in the way the song is very pacy and extroverted, It’s difficult to take this apart from Ed Sheeran kind of build-ups. But in the way the whole ambiance is built around pop-drums and a surprising electric acoustic guitar, we can definitely see a FØNX indiepop pattern taking shape.
And yes, it is addictive as hell. We even felt the urge of walking around the office tripping to the whole thing. Listen to it twice and you won’t be able to get it out of your head.
Expecting an electrifying debut EP soon, we keep following him:
