We needed one listen to know that this song belonged on Where the Music Meets. Reach Out is Toulouse‘s newest single and it is a special one. From lyrics to production, it’s a bomb in every aspect.
Toulouse was born in Nigeria and is now based on New York. He firstly managed to secure a place at the Clive Davis Institution at NYU. Earlier this year, Toulouse had his music featured on the soundtrack of major motion picture, “50 Shades Darker” with No Runnin From Me. Heis featured in the tracklist among huge names such as Sia, Danny Elfman, Kygo and ZYAN. Since then, he has been opening for Banks in a 11-city tour opening for Banks. Reach Out is his latest work and taken from his upcoming EP, set for release this summer.
Reach Out is a constant pleasant surprise, from the smooth electronics to the subtle drops. It is a lyrically intense single, counterbalanced by the satiny instrumentals.
[su_quote cite=”Toulouse”]Reach Out is about inhabiting the sacrificial and most humbling role of loving a prodigal and dysfunctional person unconditionally. It takes more courage to love an imperfect being that to hate an imperfect being.[/su_quote]
