Are you in for a experimental rock melancholic wonder? This is Son & Thief.

Ever considered a mix between Beach House and Local Natives? From Georgia comes Shane Toriscelli and Deane Lawton, a.k.a. Son & Thief, with a marvellous mix of indie rock with melancholic melodies and pushing lyrics which perfectly fits into the description.

Ever sounding mysterious with abundant bits of surprises and strangely engaging. They’ve released their debut album one month ago and the self-titled single Repair provides the right amount of variance to perfectly introduce them.

But make no mistake on thinking you’ll find the other songs repetitive or less melancholically perfect. I Wish For Nobody Else is an example of this. A tragically romantic song which drops down the beats and demonstrates Son & Thief absence of rush to make sense. Slow, raw and honest. It almost rhymes in the lyrics, and definitely echoes in the lonely hearts.

The first song of the album is anther exemplar music case that shows their profound sense of taste. Close Your Eyes is more Local Natives and less Beach House, and even has bits of My Morning Jacket psychedelic guitars. Enough bits to defy our sense of logic around song tasting. We just know we love this.

Son & Thief debut with Repair deserves any music lover full attention. Just hit play and let yourself mingle around this immersive experimental rock trip.
