If you’re not recalled, a thunder introduced us to Future Generations back in August, 2016. Back then, they practiced a super melodic alt-80’s-pop sonority. While we are counting down the days to the new record, Future Generations released two singles that won’t be featured in it, but still are really special.
Delayed Reaction is a bit different from what we’ve grown accustomed to when it comes to Future Generations. Maybe we get some of this nostalgia feeling in the piano-driven This Place We Go, but it is definitely different from the overall sound to the self-titled album. Delayed Reaction portrays exactly the feeling of longing, waiting, numbing, never draining the spirit. It sure makes us go back to Dog is Dead (D.I.D) and Little Comets.
Another single released was Count My Blessings and wow. In 1 minute and 44 seconds, Future Generations capture our attention and claim it their own. Steering away from that electro-80’s inspired pop, the band embodies the campfire singalong atmosphere in one little ball of beautiful guitar and vocals. So divine, it’s both a blessing and sin it ends so soon.
Currently, these guys are on the move. Touring through Austin, Texas until March 18th so if you’re around, don’t forget to check them out.
