It seems we’ve been listening to Sampha since we know our love for music. His debut, with the E.P. Break Off, where he collaborated with SBTRKT, was already six years ago. Sometime later, the release of the loving Valentine with Jessie Ware further revealed his whole potential. And since then, we’be been waiting for a full album. The one is finally coming, in one month time.
As a proper anticipation of that, soon to be unforgettable Process, was released today, and its suggestive name – (No One Knows Me) Like the Piano – is just the tip of a monumental sentimental iceberg.
Just him, the piano, and the world attention. This beautiful ode to growing as a musician, is the most touching we’ve could expect and something to melt the heart of the coldest man on earth. A song that ultimately fits perfectly with Sampha‘s final (and super awaited) introduction into the music business. And an assuring demonstration that without loosing the simplicity behind the piano he still manages to build his slight eletronic edge around it.
Process comes out February 3 via Young Turks.
