Two years ago, Caught A Ghost captivated us with their first album the awesome Human Nature. Songs like Can’t Let Go, Time Go and No Sugar in My Coffee, challenged our vision off how urban music and hip hop could be merged with jazz notions to create a completely distinct type of music. After the convincing debut, the single Get Your Life also got some attention from music industry maybe because of the more commercial vibe of the song. Still, it has been almost two years since we’ve been waiting for another crazy convincing vibe by Jesse Nolan band. If You Only Know fulfills that gap. From the first beat, and the words “If You Only Knew…” we knew we were in for something special. With a so-right electronic feeling, these are almost 4 minutes of a pure contemplative phenomenon that shows music can surprise us while it still gives us the chills. The almost haunting vibrations as it approaches the end perfectly reflects the type of love we nurture for this kind of music making. This is, once again, an awesome song. Should we expect this to be the first step into a new flow of material from the East Los Angeles group? We certainly hope so.
