The heavy synth right from the play button click gets to you in a way you know you’re in for a treat. Ritual got up with Skizzy Mars and delivered a great, 3 and a half minutes long single that you’ll keep on repeat for a long time. The Only One is a bit different from the smooth RnB Ritual had us accustomed to, but its a great change! Mixing up the solid synths with the fluid, effortless side of hip-hop that Skizzy Mars usually brings to the table made perfect sense in the overall feel of this single. There’s a rough sound to this track, a bit aggressive that goes perfectly with the lyrics Your silence is like a loaded gun that shot in the back of my head / Don’t tell me I’m the only one, I’m the only one left. I’ve got bullet holes where my eyes should be … Powerful.
