Jay, Pete, Maxwell and Jess are Lake Komo, a Lancaster-based rock band said to be inspired by the likes of Justin Vernon, Thom York, Bruce Hornsby and Kanye West, which in reality sound a bit like some of these and a bit like no one else. Resurrect, their first single after debuting the convincing E.P. Ritual, showcases Vernon influences (both in the whole pace and on the electrified ending) mixed with a pop rock feeling supported by strong drums and typical British-based guitar riffs. With huge drops and build ups, Resurrect constitutes a great single for the Summer, which may have even stronger impact when played live. If this wasn’t already enough, the past week they released a new song entitled Milwaukee. This time Bruce Hornsby influences are the more evident. With a cristal clear sound and transmitting one of those feelings of “where have I heard this before?” (maybe similar to the more upbeat songs by Dry The River). This is a song fitted for summer festivals and an evidence of Lake Komo consistency. The type of consistency that mixes rock with a pop twist that can turn them into one of this year favorite new bands.
