New Secret: Bishop Briggs – River / Wild Horses

Bishop Briggs is one of our favorite secrets of the year, showing outstanding ability to work her voice in the most beautiful soft whispers, but also in the most powerful growls.

Bishop Briggs is such a pleasant surprise. With only TWO singles released, she’s already one of our favorite secrets of the year and we have to share them both. Counting with a mere 750 likes on Facebook, an amazing 7,5k followers on SoundCloud, and a dark alternative indie vibe, she is definitely on the rise. Starting things off with Wild Horses, Bishop‘s first single, this tune is an enticing, heavy bass, overwhelming, clear vocals, fast rhythm (and with just the enough amount of electronic) dark pop. A few months after her brilliant debut, she released River, a tune a bit harsher, almost crossing the line towards rock, complemented with vocals that gravitate around Lzzy Hale.  She definitely has a unique sound to her and the outstanding ability to work her voice in the most beautiful soft whispers, but also in the most powerful growls. The overall sound is very close to what Alex Clare does best, with a sultry, rich voice, much like an even more alternative Gordi and Kaleida (who also has a river related single – Take Me To The River).

As these two singles weren’t good enough news for today, check this out:
