Skin is the proof a human being can abuse the replay button with no mercy whatsoever. Carmody is a London-based singer who previously recorded with Tom Misch the astonishing Out to Sea EP (2014).
Her first self-titled EP is out on 29th April and hearing her first single released a couple of weeks ago, we cannot wait to be hit again with her delicacy, her R&B meets synth and indie vibes. Skin floods gently, it flows til the tip of the fingers and soon we start snapping them along the beats and the echoes of Carmody’s voice (a cross of Elena Tonra from Daughter and a hint of Florence Welch‘s epicness). The song was co-produced with Carassius Gold (Jack Garratt‘s Worry and Weathered).
No one better than Carmody to explain this beautiful piece – “It’s both beautiful and devastating how people you’ve loved can still feel a part of you long after they’ve gone.”
