New Week New Album: Villagers – Where Have you Been all My Life

With a very deep sound to every song, the track list (or set-list really) is like a slow and melodic journey to the most gentle human inside each one of us.

Today we begin one of our weekly habits. Every week, and about every Monday, we will have a recommendation of an Album recently released.

The Villagers have released the first noticeable album of the year right in the beginning of January.

After having followed up the fabulous [Awayland] with the very consistent Darling Arithmetic, the band of Conor O’Brien kicked of the year of 2016 with a sort of live-best-of which seems and sounds like a clear anthology of all their success. Where Have You Been All My Life is all around perfect and a very good introduction for every resistant non-listener of the band. With a very deep sound to every song, the track list (or set-list really) is like a slow and melodic journey to the most gentle human inside each one of us. Strip up versions of songs like Courage, The Soul Serene, and the powerful Waves seem almost like entirely new hits while keeping the unique roughness that characterizes the band. But if all of those do not convince you, try listen to Hot Scary Summer and stay indifferent. We challenge you.
