Meeting of the Day: Pell – Basic Beach / Options

Basic Beach is that song to go to when coffee isn't enough to put the grey matter into work and Options is hip-hop in its prime matter. These singles are about to blow up straight to the top summer hits.

Here’s a song that will boost the energy out of you! Pell‘s new single, Basic Beach, was released about 1 month ago and is ~still~ our go to song when we’re feeling like coffee isn’t enough to put the grey matter into work. Basic Beach is such a great come back original of his: the single is energetic and funky, maintaining a certain dose of self appreciation and smart(ly) provocative lyrics: I just know my worth, and a shone ain’t worth a penny / But some be too fine, they make me think twice, like really think twice, like they could be mine / But I’m kidding, there’s too many fish, and I’m tryna go swimming / Never bring sand to the beach, when you never even seen that shore / There’s plenty more fish in the sea, so why would I swim with yours

Basic Beach is a smart-ass tune, so refreshing and groovy, playing with guitar riffs, magical electrosynth backdrops and rap/hip-hop culture, so much so it can actually be compared to the one and only Kendrick Lamar and even an early Vic Mensa.

But wait, there’s more. As a little surprise, Pell has been busy, as as off last week a new summer tune has been released – Options. This record is a collaborative work between Caleborate, Pell and Sylvan Lacue and is a-mazing. In the line of previous works of Caleborate, this tune is upbeat, energetic and is filled with swag and positive thinking. Options is hip-hop in its prime matter.

These two singles are about to blow up straight to the top summer hits.
