This Thursday we bring something different to everyone hears. Jake Davis, L.A. very gifted multi-instrumentalist and producer of indie-electronic which first got noticed by a perfect cover of Hozier‘s Work Song, just released Saying It Right. This is a combination between pop and electronic which goes from a first easy listening to a Summer guilty pleasure in an instant. With some similarities to the more flowy songs from Bombay Bicycle Club, or some of Gotye‘s flexibility, his electrified voice works like charm since the first time it makes itself hear. In addition, the way the song builds to a very catchy and open feeling is just one of those cases capable of convincing almost every single pair of hears. The guitar, the vocal repetitive tricks, the strong drums keeping the song really high, and lastly the way it almost seems like we are diving in the ocean after every bass drop, are the perfect prescription for an immediate buzz. This in fact might have already started, as the project consisting of Davis, Jordan Meltzer, James Harmon and Eddy Barco has been named Santa Monica’s Emerging Artist, has almost 18k likes on Facebook, and are already due to play for 30,000+ at the Twilight Concert Series.

Saying it Right is the opener for the debut upcoming EP entitled The Valley which is expected to come out really soon.
