Savoir Adore are not exactly a new secret, they are a new old secret. The New-York fantasy pop band led by Paul Hammer emerged from a curious 48h recording session where “no acoustic guitars” were allowed. The Adventures of Mr. Pumpernickel and The Girl with Animals in Her Throat, a conceptual EP, came out from that musical experiment, which Cantora Records (MGMT) released, opening the doors to a mythical full length record in 2009, The Wooded Forest, followed by Our Nature in 2012, a rawer, yet intriguing album about relationships.
Lovers Wake is The Love That Remains‘s first single (to be released this Summer), a song about someone in denial, escaping from a self-fabricated dream, and that human odd need for suffering about love. The story-line may be one of slight bitterness , but in terms of sound the music is much more hopeful and uplifting, either because of the saint like back-vocals, either from the synthesizers’ careful set off at the right time. Do you know that feeling when you plunge in the water and come out right after a wave, in a deep relieving breath? We imagine this is what we will feel when the record finally sees the light of day.
