Meeting of the Day: Vaults – Midnight River

Midnight River has a slight-but-not-too-much commercial feeling, and keeps Blythe's typical ripping voice supported by the melodic back vocals, introspective piano and soft synthesizers.

Vaults by Eliot Lee Hazel

Vaults launched in 2014 one very solid EP entitled Vultures which contained three very good songs – the self-titled Vultures, Poison and Mend This Love – and in 2015 managed to feature in the much-better-than-movie Fifty Shades of Grey OST with the original One Last Night. It would be expected they were done releasing singles, however this seems to be one of those cases where an album is released before it is compiled into one single piece. Midnight River is probably the song with best potential ever released from the band by having that slight-but-not-too-much commercial feeling, while keeping Blythe’s typical ripping voice supported by the melodic back vocals, introspective piano and soft synthesizers. It’s our meeting of the day, and has been one of the songs that we have playing more in the last two weeks.
